How to Stay Motivated Through the Holidays

The holiday season can make it tough to stick to your fitness routine, but staying consistent with CrossFit classes will keep you feeling energized, balanced, and ready to tackle all the festivities. With just a few actionable strategies, you can keep showing up at CrossFit Buckhead and finish the year strong. Here’s how!

1. Book Your Classes in Advance

Take control of your schedule by booking your classes on the Push Press app. Pre-scheduling locks in your commitment and makes it easier to prioritize fitness, even when things get busy. Treat these classes like any other holiday event or meeting—once it’s in the calendar, it’s non-negotiable!

Hack: Set a weekly reminder to book all your classes for the week ahead. Add calendar notifications to reinforce these plans.

2. Make the Most of Class Variety

With holiday demands, flexibility is key. Try different class times and types throughout the season to fit your changing schedule and keep things fresh. If you typically take morning classes but have a packed day ahead, see if an evening class works. CrossFit Buckhead has a range of options to make it easier to stay consistent.

Hack: Mix things up by trying a class you don’t usually attend. Changing your routine can reinvigorate your motivation.

3. Bring a Friend or Family Member

The holidays are a great time to invite loved ones to try CrossFit. Working out with someone else adds accountability and makes it more fun. Whether they’re locals or visiting family, friends and family are welcome at CrossFit Buckhead, and bringing a buddy can add a social boost to your workout.

Hack: Schedule a class together and celebrate with a post-workout coffee or smoothie—staying active while spending time together!

4. Set Mini Goals for Each Class

Keep yourself engaged by setting a small goal for each class. Whether it’s improving your form on a particular movement, increasing your weight, or pushing a little harder during the AMRAP, having a goal can make each class feel purposeful.

Hack: Write down one specific goal for each week’s classes and check in at the end of each class to see how you did. Setting micro-goals helps keep you focused and motivated throughout the season.

5. Stay Mindful of Nutrition Before and After Class

With holiday events and treats everywhere, fueling your workouts can easily slip. Focus on eating balanced meals around class times so you feel strong and energized. Try to get some protein and healthy carbs before class and stay hydrated.

Hack: Plan a nutritious snack to have ready before heading to class, like Greek yogurt with berries or a handful of nuts and fruit. After class, grab a smoothie or protein-packed snack to recover and reduce post-workout cravings.

6. Celebrate Every Class You Make It To!

During the holiday season, showing up is a win in itself. Celebrate each class you attend, no matter how busy life gets. Staying consistent through this season is all about progress over perfection. Remind yourself that every class you complete keeps you one step closer to your fitness goals.

Hack: Track your attendance over the holidays as a fun challenge. For each class you make it to, check it off on a personal calendar or note in your phone. Seeing your consistency builds momentum and gives you something to celebrate as you wrap up the year.

At CrossFit Buckhead, we know the holiday season can be a challenge—but we’re here to support you every step of the way. Stick with these strategies to stay active, motivated, and ready to finish the year on a high note.
